while attending the
first
national smart car
rally in kansas city, i saw
this beautiful yellow smartie that rachael and boris, from smart madness, shipped all the way from california. when i saw the s-mann rear spoiler on it, i ordered one on the spot. here's what we did with it. watch the led spoiler videos here! |

itibiti's s-mann rear spoiler w/custom led's.

he knows better than to say to me "i wonder what it would look like with led's?" |

matt asked his long-time buddy, shawn hanson, to apply the paint and
clear coat. after it dried, he wet-sanded with several different grits then polished the spoiler to a high shine. |

matt then proceeded to do what he does best. he taped, measured, measured again, marked, drilled, dry fit, soldered, wired and glued 21 led's in place. i think he even cursed under his breath a little! then he dry fitted the spoiler and drilled a small hole in the original piece for access to the wires for power. |

as seen above, the bottom piece had to be modified to fit around the
led's. after it was screwed in place, the spoiler was carefully attached and secured with double faced tape. we disabled the original center light, as the led's were more than bright enough to take its place. matt finished the install with black silicone around the edges, as we didn't want any water to find it's way in. |
